1. About Wawata Reo

Wawata Reo provides face-to-face te reo Māori language courses and related educational services. Our offerings are designed for learning and cultural engagement purposes only.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website or enrolling in a course, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use our website or services.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 14 years of age to enrol in our courses unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Wawata Reo (for example, for youth or community programmes). By enrolling, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

If you are under 18 years of age, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required prior to participation. The parent or legal guardian may be required to complete the enrolment process and accept these Terms and Conditions on the participant’s behalf. By enrolling, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirements and that all required guardian consent has been obtained.

4. Course Enrolments

4.1 Enrolment Process
Enrolment in a course is subject to availability and confirmation by Wawata Reo. We reserve the right to accept or decline enrolments at our discretion.

4.2 Accuracy of Information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when enrolling in a course.

5. Fees and Payments

5.1 Course Fees
All fees are listed in Australian dollars (AUD) unless stated otherwise.

5.2 Payment
Payment must be made in full at the time of enrolment unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5.3 Third-Party Payment Providers
Payments may be processed through third-party platforms. Wawata Reo is not responsible for the terms, conditions, or security practices of those providers.

6. Cancellations, Transfers, and Refunds

6.1 Participant Cancellations
If you are unable to attend a course, you must notify Wawata Reo as soon as possible. Refunds or transfers may be offered at our discretion, subject to reasonable notice.

6.2 Course Changes or Cancellations by Wawata Reo
Wawata Reo reserves the right to reschedule, relocate, or cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances (including low enrolment, facilitator availability, or events beyond our control). If a course is cancelled by us, you will be offered a deferment.

6.3 Consumer Law
Nothing in this section excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

7. Attendance and Participation

You are expected to arrive on time, participate respectfully, and follow any reasonable instructions provided during the course. Wawata Reo reserves the right to refuse participation or remove a participant whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful, without refund.

8. Cultural Respect

Wawata Reo courses involve Māori language and cultural knowledge. Participants are expected to engage respectfully with te reo Māori, tikanga, and all facilitators and fellow learners. Inappropriate or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.

9. Intellectual Property

All course materials, content, and resources provided by Wawata Reo (including but not limited to written materials, recordings, and teaching methods) are the intellectual property of Wawata Reo unless otherwise stated.

You may not reproduce, distribute, record, or share course materials without prior written consent.

10. Website Use

You agree not to use our website:

  • For any unlawful purpose

  • To infringe the rights of others

  • To introduce malicious code or interfere with website functionality

We may suspend or terminate access to our website if these Terms are breached.

11. Limitation of Liability
